Frank Wang (NCTU Mech. Engineering)

Hi, my name is Frank.

I graduated from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at National Chiao Tung University (NCTU). My teaching style combines interactive, American-style methods with a tailored local approach. I design lessons based on each student’s needs, making classes engaging and interactive.

I frequently ask questions to understand how students think and guide them in the right direction. By observing their focus and adjusting lesson lengths accordingly, I create a customized schedule that matches their personality and school progress. This personalized approach ensures that students experience the efficiency of private tutoring compared to traditional cram schools.

My teaching also aims to prepare students for independent life abroad. I focus on:
1. Teaching effective note-taking and course structure analysis.
2. Helping students develop strong study habits and problem-solving skills.
3. Identifying their strengths and weaknesses and offering tailored advice.
4. Encouraging them to summarize and express their learning clearly, improving their communication skills.

To help students improve their grades and confidence, I strengthen their test-taking skills, including:
1. Quickly identifying key points in questions using keywords.
2. Reviewing and addressing careless mistakes to build better habits.

My goal is to equip students with the ability to thrive independently, both academically and in life. Over the past 10+ years, I’ve worked with students from schools like Kang Chiao, Fuhsing, and Wego, as well as international schools like TAS and PAS. I am familiar with their academic systems and can help students excel in any environment.

在課堂上，我會透過提問了解學生的思考方式，並引導他們思考。我也觀察學生的是否專注，根據學生的性格與學校進度，彈性調整課程長度與內容，讓每位學生都能感受到家教相較於傳統補習班的優勢。

我的教學目標是幫助學生為未來的留學生活做好準備，培養學習方法與習慣：
1. 學會做筆記，掌握課程架構。
2. 養成良好的讀書習慣，並培養解決問題的能力。
3. 隨時觀察學生的學習優勢與弱點，並提供適當建議，幫助學生更了解自己。
4. 讓學生能清楚表達所學的內容，提升表達能力。

為了幫助學生提升成績並增加成就感，我特別注重應試技巧的訓練，包括：
1. 快速從題目中抓住關鍵點，透過關鍵字掌握題意。
2. 針對粗心問題進行檢討，協助學生養成避免粗心的好習慣。

在過去超過十年的教學經驗中，我已指導過多位學生，例如康橋、復興、薇閣、華興、奎山等私校的學生，以及台北美國學校（TAS）和新竹亞太美國學校（PAS）等純國際學校的多名學生，對這些學校的學制與需求十分了解。
